Two different Mint Hills, one truck
Mint Hill still has working farmland mixed in with subdivisions, and the plumbing tells the same story. Out toward Bain Academy Rd and the older parts near the town center, you'll find farmhouses and brick ranches from the 1960s and 70s with galvanized supply lines and cast iron drains that have been patched more than once. Closer to Independence Blvd and in the newer neighborhoods that filled in during the 2000s, it's almost all PEX and PVC.

A lot of Mint Hill's newer subdivisions off Wilgrove-Mint Hill Rd and Fairview Rd were built with standard tank water heaters that are now hitting the age where they either leak quietly into a drain pan or fail outright. We pull a permit for any water heater swap, tankless or standard, and the inspection gets scheduled as part of the job.
Gas piping calls have picked up too, mostly homeowners adding a range, a fireplace insert, or an outdoor kitchen on the bigger lots near the older farmland. We pressure test the new run before it ever gets buried or boxed in, and that gets permitted the same as a water heater.
