Most of Indian Trail was built fast in the 2000s and 2010s. That's good news for pipe material and less good news for how corners sometimes got cut.
A young town, mostly
Indian Trail grew in a hurry. Drive the subdivisions off Rogers Rd, Unionville-Indian Trail Rd, and out toward Sun Valley, and you're mostly looking at homes built between the late 1990s and 2015. That means PEX and PVC are the norm, not copper or cast iron, and a lot of what we get called for isn't pipe failure, it's builder-grade fixtures and water heaters that were sized to a spec sheet instead of the family living in the house.
Water and sewer here run through Union County Public Works rather than Charlotte Water, which matters when a backup shows up at the property line and we need to know who's responsible for which side of it. There are still a handful of older farmhouses and larger lots on the edges of town, mostly toward Wesley Chapel and the Monroe Bypass, that predate the subdivision boom and sit on well and septic instead.
