How it goes

Six Steps, and Four Promises With Consequences

Most contractors describe their process. Ours is written down because it is also what you hold us to — including the part where missing a start date costs us money.

From the first call to close-out

01

The call

Five minutes. What the house is, what is wrong with it, and whether we are the right company for it. If we are not, we say so on this call rather than after we have taken up an afternoon.

02

The walkaround

Forty minutes at your house. We look at the elevations, the roof edge, the flashing and at least one opening, and we photograph everything we find — whether or not you hire us.

03

The number

One fixed written price, a scope that lists what is and is not included, the per-sheet repair rate for anything we find behind the wall, and a start date. Good for 45 days.

04

Material and permit

We order to the color and profile you approved, submit to your HOA if there is one, and pull the permit in our name. Nothing starts until material is on site.

05

The work

One crew, one house. Daily photos from your project manager, a clean site every evening, and a call from him — not a text from an office — if anything changes.

06

Close-out

Walkthrough with the punch list in hand, manufacturer warranty registered in your name, final magnet sweep, and a written reinspection scheduled at year two.

The Bellhaven Standard

Four promises. Each one names what we do if we miss it, because a guarantee that does not name a consequence is just a sentence on a website.

We start on the date in your contract

Not the week. The date. Material is on site before the crew is.

If we start late for any reason other than weather or a permit hold: money off the final invoice, applied automatically.

Your property is clean every evening

Debris hauled, beds raked, driveway and lawn magnet-swept before the truck leaves — not just at the end of the job.

Find a nail in your driveway after we have left for the day and we will pay for the tire.

One project manager, named on the contract

His name and cell number are on page one. He walks the job daily and he is the person who calls you with bad news.

If you cannot reach him within four business hours, call the owner's line — it is printed beside his.

Five-year workmanship warranty

On top of the manufacturer warranty, which we register in your name and email to you when the job closes.

We schedule a written reinspection at year two and we call you to set it. You do not have to remember.

Questions we get on the phone

If yours isn't here, ask the chat in the corner or just call — the same person answers both.

Will you give me a price over the phone?

No, and be careful with anyone who does. On a house built before about 1990 the price is decided by what is behind the siding — sheathing, framing, flashing, old repairs — and none of that is visible from a driveway. We look at it, then hand you one fixed written number that does not move unless you change the scope.

How long will the job take?

Full-home siding runs 5 to 9 working days. A roof is one day, sometimes two. Windows go about eight to ten openings a day. A porch rebuild is two to three weeks because of footings, inspections and cure time. You get the schedule in writing before we order material.

Do you handle storm damage and insurance claims?

Yes. We photograph everything before we touch it, write the scope the way adjusters expect to read it, and meet your adjuster at the house. We will not pay, waive or rebate your deductible — that is illegal in North Carolina, and any contractor offering it knows that.

What happens if you find rot once the siding is off?

You see it before it gets covered up. We photograph it, text you the pictures the same afternoon, and the repair is billed at the per-sheet and per-linear-foot rate printed in your contract. No renegotiating in the driveway.

Can you match what's already on my house?

Usually. On the older Dilworth and Myers Park houses that means matching an exposure and a profile that nobody stocks any more, which sometimes means milled cedar rather than a catalog product. We tell you at the walkaround whether a true match is possible or whether the honest answer is to redo the whole elevation.

Do I have to be home while you work?

No. Most of our clients are at work. We need access to power and a spigot, and a driveway or street space for the dumpster. Your project manager sends photos at the end of each day so you can see what happened without being there.
