How much does tree removal cost in Charlotte?
Most Charlotte removals land between a written flat-rate number and a written flat-rate number depending on height, what's under the tree, and access. A small ornamental in an open yard is a few hundred dollars; a 90-foot oak over a roof with crane work can pass a written flat-rate number. Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Charlotte?
For a single-family lot, usually no — Charlotte's tree ordinance mostly governs commercial property, new construction and trees in the public right-of-way (the strip between the sidewalk and street). Heritage trees and trees on HOA-governed lots can have their own rules. We'll tell you before we cut, and we handle the paperwork when a permit is required.
Are you insured if something goes wrong?
Yes. 2 million in general liability and workers' compensation on every crew member. Ask for the certificate and we'll email it before the crew arrives — any tree company that hesitates on that question is telling you something.
What happens to the wood and the mess?
Limbs get chipped on site and hauled, or blown into your beds as mulch if you want them. Trunk wood gets hauled, or bucked to fireplace length and stacked where you point. The lawn is raked and the driveway blown off before the truck leaves. That's the Clean-Yard Guarantee, and it's in writing.
Can you take down a tree that's right next to my house?
That's most of what we do. The tree comes down in sections from the top, each piece tied to a rigging line and lowered by a groundie at the base. Nothing free-falls. Plywood goes on the lawn, the roof gets protected, and the climber is tied in the whole time.
How fast can you get here after a storm?
Call the storm line and you get a call back within 15 minutes. In Mecklenburg County we're on site within 4 hours — if we miss that, the first hour of crew time is free. There's no after-hours surcharge. Nights, weekends and hurricanes cost the same as a Tuesday.
