Listen · weeks 1–3
Every commission begins with a two-hour sitting at the studio — no drawings, no sales material. We ask how you wake, where you read, what you cook on a Tuesday, which rooms of every previous house you avoided and why. Partners are interviewed together and separately; the disagreements are usually where the design lives.
You leave with nothing to sign. We leave with a written brief — your rituals, constraints, budget posture, and the one sentence that will govern every decision after it. We send it to you for correction before a single line is drawn. If the brief is wrong, everything after it is expensive fiction.
Compose · months 1–5
Design and budget grow up together. The first concept review pairs plans and elevations with a line-item cost model — real numbers from our estimators and trade partners, not allowances invented to flatter the meeting. Each design iteration reprices, so you are never asked to fall in love with something you cannot build.
By the end of this movement you hold a complete instrument: architecture, interior architecture, lighting, hardware, and landscape intent in one construction set, often more than one hundred sheets, with a guaranteed scope attached. Permitting and historic-district approvals run in parallel, prepared and presented by us.

Craft · months 6–20
Construction is run by our own superintendents — employees, not subcontracted project managers — and staffed by a bench of trades whose average tenure with the atelier is over nine years. A principal walks your site every week, drawings in hand, and publishes the walk notes to your client dashboard the same day: photos, decisions made, decisions needed, budget position.
Changes happen on every project; concealment is what we refuse. Any change is priced, signed, and logged before the work proceeds. The schedule we publish at groundbreaking has held within three weeks on our last eleven projects.
Keep · year 1–forever
Move-in is the beginning of the relationship, not the end of the file. At month eleven — after the house has lived through every season once — we walk it room by room and resolve anything that settled, shifted, or squeaked, on our account. A five-year craftsmanship warranty stands behind the work; your full drawing set stays archived with us permanently.
Sixty-four households hold our number. When one calls in year ten about a bookcase, a leak, or a new wing, they reach the same studio that drew their home — and they go to the front of the line.
