Signature Full Groom

Bath to bow-out: the complete haircut appointment, styled to the breed — or to your actual life — and finished one-on-one, start to soft.

A full groom at Rally starts before the water turns on. We put hands on the whole coat first — checking for mats, hot spots, and the places your dog would rather we didn't know about — so the plan is set and priced before the first rinse. Then it's a true double bath: a deep-clean wash to lift the South End street grime, followed by a coat-matched shampoo and conditioner chosen for your dog's skin, not whatever's closest to the tub.

The dry is where calm pays off. We hand-dry with a high-velocity dryer at your dog's pace, with breaks whenever the ears say so — never a cage dryer, because we don't own one. Dry coat, clean canvas: then comes the haircut.

Styled to the breed — or to your Tuesday

Breed-standard cuts are a craft and we take them seriously: crisp schnauzer furnishings, a proper westie head, poodle feet that look like poodle feet. But most Charlotte dogs aren't headed to a show ring — they're headed to a creek trail at McAlpine and a couch by 7pm. So we also do honest lifestyle cuts: a doodle teddy head at a length you can actually maintain, a spaniel tidy that survives the dog park, a yorkie puppy cut that keeps the face out of the water bowl.

Doodles deserve a special word. That gorgeous wavy coat mats from the skin outward, where you can't see it. If we find fusing near the skin, we call you before we cut — every time. Sometimes the kind answer is shorter than the photo you brought, and we'd rather have that conversation up front than hand you a surprise.

Every full groom includes

  • Pre-groom coat and skin assessment, priced before we start
  • Double bath with coat-matched shampoo and conditioner
  • Hand blow-out and full brush to the skin
  • Haircut: breed standard, lifestyle trim, or your photo
  • Nail trim, ear cleaning, sanitary trim and pad shave
  • Finishing spritz and a coat report card at pickup

Anxious or seniors-only-please dogs are genuinely welcome. The one-dog-at-a-time model means we can pause, treat, restart — and a groom that takes twenty minutes longer costs you nothing extra. Tell us everything in the temperament field when you book; the more we know, the smoother the visit.

Full Groom FAQs

Asked at the front desk

How much does a full groom cost at Rally Grooming Co.?
Full grooms run $65 for small dogs, $85–$105 for mediums, and up to $130 for large or extra-coated breeds. The exact price is confirmed at drop-off after we assess the coat — never as a surprise at pickup.
How long does a full groom take?
Because we groom one dog straight through with no cage time, most full grooms finish in 90 minutes to 2.5 hours depending on size and coat condition. We text the moment your dog is ready.
Can you groom my doodle without shaving it?
If the coat is brush-able to the skin, yes — we love a long doodle cut. If matting has fused near the skin, shaving is the humane option and we will always call you first to talk it through before clippers touch the coat.
Do you follow breed-standard cuts?
We can — schnauzer skirts, poodle feet, westie heads, the proper lines. We're equally happy doing a low-maintenance lifestyle trim. Bring a photo or describe it in the booking form and we'll match it.
What if my dog has never been professionally groomed?
Tell us in the temperament field when you book. First-timers get extra decompression time, and for very nervous adult dogs we may suggest a shorter intro visit first — the same approach we use for puppies.
